Thigh lift

Many women contact Mr Ghattaura concerned that they have a build up of fat on their upper-inner thighs or have loose skin. You may have been left with skin folds on your thighs following major weight loss and now feel uncomfortable wearing shorts, swimsuits, or tighter clothing. If you feel like this, a thigh lift may be suitable for you. This procedure removes loose skin and fat from your inner thighs, leaving your legs looking slender and smoother.

Mr Ghattaura offers a variety  of thigh reduction techniques including liposuction alone, a medial (groin) thigh lift or an extended medial (groin) thigh lift. Mr Ghattaura will guide you through these different options to make sure you get the right one based on your specific thigh shape and goals.

Liposuction

If you have relatively good skin quality and have small amounts of excess fat on your inner thigh, liposuction alone may be suitable for you. This surgery removes the fat only, though very small keyhole scars on your thighs. If your skin elasticity is good enough, your thigh skin should shrink back, leaving you with better-shaped thighs and minimal scars.

This procedure is performed under general anaesthetic and takes around 1-2 hours. You could probably go home the same day, although an overnight stay is sometimes needed. A special compression garment will be applied after the procedure and maintained for 6 weeks after surgery, day and night. This will help with the swelling and recovery process.  Your normal routine can be resumed after a couple of weeks.

The medial (groin) thigh lift

The groin incision thigh lift is a very powerful tool to remove the loose skin along your upper inner thighs. The beauty of this technique is that the resulting scar is carefully hidden within your groin crease and almost completely invisible with the right clothing. This procedure is extremely effective when combined with a small amount of liposuction to re-sculpt the upper thigh. A special compression garment is applied after the procedure and maintained for 6 weeks after surgery, day and night. Full recovery takes around 4 to 6 weeks and you should take 2 weeks off work or your busy routine.

The extended medial (groin) thigh lift

The extended medial (groin) thigh lift is ideal for patients who have undergone massive weight loss and now have loose skin in all directions on their thigh. The scar from this procedure is the same as the medial (groin) thigh lift, but also extends vertically down the inner thigh. This extension allows for greater skin removal and maximal circumferential tightening of the thigh skin, from the groin crease down to the knee. A special compression garment is then applied after the procedure and maintained for 6 weeks after surgery, day and night. The results of this surgery are usually very good and most patients are happy to trade off the longer scar with the new look of their legs. Full recovery takes around 4 to 6 weeks from this surgery and you should take 2-4 weeks off work, or your busy routine.
